Sponsor a Dog

Please help us to help a dog in need - we now have special dogs who require our ongoing support and we need your help to care for them.

Why Sponsor a Dog?

Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue Centre cares for and rehomes over 300 stray and unwanted dogs each year. Some of them have conditions that make it difficult for them to find permanent homes, either because they are very elderly and infirm or because their need for ongoing and expensive medication proves a deterrent for many adopters.

Sponsoring a dog means these dogs can be placed in a happy, stable, home and receive the support and comfort they need.

From as little as £1 a week you could help one of these dogs and have a friend for life. It costs us over £260 to rehome a dog on average, but include the old age pensioners and medically challenged dogs for whom we have ongoing financial responsibility and the figure is much, much higher. With no government funding we rely heavily on the generosity of people. By sponsoring a dog you will help ensure they receive the best possible care they can.

When you sponsor a dog you will receive regular news on your dog, a personalised certificate, photo of your pet and quarterly magazine with events and news on what is happening at the kennels. You can also sponsor a dog as a gift for a friend!
