“Here is a photo of me on my first holiday. I had a wonderful time and look what I found!!!”

“Well, what an eventful time the last 4 months have been. On December the 16th I was adopted. I didn’t get off to the best of starts when I vomited all over my new sister in the car going home. My new Mum wasn’t too upset, she laughed and said that it made a change for Nya (my new sister) to be being vomited on rather than doing the vomiting as apparently she used to get car sick too though she has grown out of it now.
Thanks for rehoming me to my new Mum and sister, I’m having a whale of a time, oh and growing lots too, Mum is getting worried that there won’t be any room in the bed for her soon. I’ll keep in touch.”

Members can read about the joys of adopting older dogs in our April 2011 Gladd Times magazine, including an article from the lovely adopters of Joy and Lucky shown in this photo. Both dogs were over 12 (conservative estimate) and in Joy’s case, in a very poor state when she arrived at Glencaple. One year on, she is blooming!
Please select from the 20 dogs currently available for re-homing:

We run four charity shops; one in Dumfries at 96 Friars Vennel, one in Bank Street Annan, one at Dashwood Square, Newton Stewart and one at the Round House in Dalbeattie. The shops offer marvellous bargains in clothes, bric-a-brac, toys, household items and much more.
They also provide information on the events being organised and dogs waiting for homes.
Donations of doggy items for the kennels can be handed in to any of our shops.
