History

Flake and her sister Skye were the result of an illicit liaison between their Kelpie dad and Border Terrier mum. A morning after jab failed and two puppies resulted. They stayed in the family until 6mths but then the owners moved house and could not keep 4 dogs. We rehomed Flake and she was re-named Bracken. Her adopters loved her and said she was a great dog in the house, but they did not want a dog with her level of dog-to-dog aggression out walking.

Description

Bracken's looks owe more to her Border Terrier mother than to her father. She and her sister were given a great account by her owner but like most puppies raised together, one has ended up more outgoing than the other, and Bracken relied more on Skye than the other way around. We found they were much better behaved separated, but Bracken still has fear-related issues with other dogs, and can turn aggressive towards them if she feels at all threatened. This will need careful handling by her new owner, who will need to be very confident. In the house, Bracken is a gorgeous, loving wee dog.
