Bea was brought in as a stray or abandoned dog. We suspect her medical condition caused her owner to abandon her. She came into us with a large mammary tumour and we feared the worst. Happily, chest X-rays didn't show any secondaries so our vet went ahead and operated to remove the tumour which came away cleanly.
Bea is a Lab X type of indeterminate years. She is a happy bunny despite having had a fairly major op a week after arrival. She is being fostered by Katherine, a member of staff, who fell for her quickly and couldn't bear to leave her in kennels. Bea has bounced back from her op. She has some mild senile behavioural changes and early laryngeal paralysis which is not affecting her greatly as yet. As no adoptive home was forthcoming and in view of Bea's health status we felt it was unlikely to happen, so Katherine has agreed to keep Bea as a permanent foster dog. We are now looking for sponsors to help support her in her old age!
