Fiona has been with the Charity since the Centre opened in 2003 and has been delighted to be part of it growing from nothing into the well-established organisation it is today.
Fiona, a qualified veterinary nurse, has many years experience in the world of animal welfare, having come to Dumfries from Wood Green Animal Shelter in Cambridgeshire and having previously nursed at the world-famous Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. As well as working in veterinary practice, Fiona has also spent 4 years as a part-time Dog Warden, and a short spell as a seasonal Zoo-keeper!
In her spare time, Fiona indulges her lifelong passion for Golden Retrievers which she shows, works and judges at home and abroad. She and her husband currently share their home with 9 Goldens, 2 black Labradors and the boss of them all terrier Scamp, the charity's mascot!
