INDEPENDENT, BUT AFFECTIONATE CHAP!
Bailey's previous owners allowed him to rule the roost, which he did happily! Because of this Bailey didn't understand 'boundaries' and what was expected of him.
He does like to get his own way, but we have found that he will accept boundaries and instruction. This will need to be continued in his new home. His behaviour is quite typical of a small dog breed who has had no guidance.
He enjoys the company of other dogs whether they be big or small, he has made friends with our gentle giant Scooby.
Having lived in his previous home for the last 7yrs his owners came to the very hard decision to let him go, as they could no longer cope with his unwanted behaviour, their working hours had also been extended.
Ideally Bailey needs a confident owner that has had previous experience dealing with dogs that guard belongings that they believe are theirs.
These are the traits that Bailey displayed in his previous home, but we have to say that with the right guidance we feel this should not develop to such an extent with his new owner.
Once Bailey has the right direction in his life, he will be an absolute joy to have around.
Bailey would suit a quieter home with or without older children. He has never met cats in his previous home but due to him being smaller than the average cat we would not rule living with a cat out, however introductions would need to be made.
