Timid, farm boy looking for a gentle, approach.
Bob is shy rural boy who has not experienced much other than herding sheep. Despite being interested in herding sheep, we are told he didn’t quite make the grade to make it a full time career. So instead his owner felt he would be better suited to pet life. Bob is keen to give affection, but as he is very timid he requires a patient, gentle touch. He will need help adjusting to new people and environments as he has not lived in a house before. Bob shared his outdoor kennel with another dog who he was fine with. He is sociable meeting new dogs but has not met cats before. We feel with a confident cat, he could adjust to living with one, but given he does have a herding instinct, he may try to chase initially. Bob traveled in a crate in the back of a pickup and was fine. He will need further recall training and can be unsure of walking on lead.
Bob requires a rural or very quiet neighbourhood, with an owner who is able to commit to his ongoing socialising at a steady pace. He will need help adjusting to a home environment and house training. We feel Bob would suit an adult only home at this stage as he has not been used to children and can be worried by loud noises or sudden movements.
Bob was handed in as he didn’t quite make the grade required for working livestock.
