Effy is a timid girl who is wary initially. Once she knows you she is affectionate but does lack confidence with new situaitons. She has been kenneled on a farm, in a very rural environment therefore lacks experience of living indoors or interactions that other pet dogs are used to. Effy is friendly towards other dogs and tries to avoids conflict. She has only seen cats briefly in the distance and has been known to herd chickens. Effy has shared her space with her littermates who she got on well with. She is food orientated but needs further recall training. Effy can get worried by loud noises or quick movements so is looking for an owner who is patient and understands it will take her time to adjust to her new lifestyle.
Effy was handed in for rehoming as she was bred to be a sheep herder but did not cut the grade. She has come in with 3 of her littermates who decided sheep dog trialling was not for them either!
Effy requires a rural type home with an owner who is understanding of the needs of under socialised ex farm collies. We are looking for an owner who is gentle and patient and will give Effy plenty of time to grow in confidence and help provide her with reassurance and guidance. She needs an active owner who will provide her with the mental and physical stimulation young collies require. We feel Effy would benefit from a home without young children.
