Eve is a timid girl who is wary initially. She has been kenneled on a farm, in a very rural environment therefore lacks experience of living indoors or interactions that other pet dogs are used to. Eve is friendly towards other dogs and avoids conflict. She has only seen cats briefly in the distance and has been known to herd chickens. Eve has shared her space with her littermates who she got on well with. She is not used to travelling and can be anxious. She was brought over in a farm trailer so has not been in a car before. She is not very food orientated and prefers to eat on her own. Eve can get worried by loud noises or quick movements so is looking for an owner who is patient and understands it will take her time to adjust to her new lifestyle.
Eve was handed in for rehoming as she was bred to be a sheep herder but did not cut the grade. She has come in with 3 of her littermates who decided sheep dog trialling was not for them either!
Eve requires a rural home with an owner who is understanding of the needs of nervous ex farm collies. We are looking for an owner who is gentle and patient and will give Eve plenty of time to grow in confidence and help provide her with reassurance and guidance. We feel Eve would benefit from a home without young children given her timid nature and lack of experience with children. Eve requires an owner who is active and has lots of time to commit to training and socialising.
