Rural, energetic boy!
Mitch is a very affectionate boy who loves attention. He does however offer appeasement gestures (rolling on his back) which signals he can be a little unsure of the situation or close contact, so future adopters must be able to recognise this and not mistake it for wanting a tummy rub. Mitch has never lived in a house but instead has been used to an outside kennel on the farm. This handsome boy has not encountered cats or children before. Mitch has however met chickens and has mixed with the other farm dogs. His owners tell us that he had good recall on the farm and friendly to anyone he met there. Mitch has not had much experience of travelling in a car, and on route to the centre he was not sick but did display signs of anxiety by drooling.
Mitch did not favour sheep herding so his owners felt he would be better suited to being a pet dog.
Coming from a rural, farm background Mitch will need help adjusting to a home environment. He is not housetrained and lacks experience of new places and situation. As he is from working stock, he can display working collie traits such as needing routine and plenty of stimulation in order to prevent frustration or the need to want to control situations. We are looking for a home out in the country with a quiet household, ideally with someone at home the majority of the day who can further his training and socialising
