John is a new boy, Bracken is an old boy, both have a keen interest in animal welfare.
John lives with his wife and a deerhound called Bracken, a border collie called Smudge and two cats in an old schoolhouse just outside Ruthwell .
He was a chartered surveyor and spent most of his professional life working for Local Authorities. After he retired he spent 15 years on the board of DGHP. Apart from dogs his hobbies are gardening and watching rugby.
