Active, fun, sensitive pair.

Misty and Alfie are loving, affectionate dogs looking for an active home together.

Misty is a neutered female Collie cross aged 4 years and Alfie is a male neutered Labrador cross aged 6 years.

These two are very different from each other. Alfie is the extrovert while Misty is the introvert. Alfie is happy to meet anyone, he's outgoing and bubbly. Misty on the other hand is the quieter of the pair, and is very cautious when meeting new people and going in to new situations. So together they are the perfect pair. Misty will take time to settle, and therefore we are looking for someone that has had dealings with shy, less confident dogs and understands that gaining her trust will take some time.

History

Very sadly their owner recently passed away, so they have found themselves looking for a new home together.

Re-homing Criteria

Misty and Alfie rely on each other and do get quite anxious when they are not together. This is why we feel that it is only fair to try and keep them together and find a home that will be willing to take them both on.

They need a quiet, understanding home. Someone who has dealt with nervous dogs before would be ideal.

A very secure garden area would be essential, so lead free exercise could take place safe in the knowledge that they couldn't escape.

We have no idea what they are like with cats, but we could possibly look at introducing them to an existing cat.

As a quieter home is required, mainly for Misty, so older teenage children would be best, along with someone who is at home most of the time.

Any potential adopters must be prepared to visit Alfie and Misty multiple times to get a bond with Misty before she leave the centre. Please keep this in mind when enquiring.
