Nala is nervous of strangers, in particular men. It takes her a while to feel confident with new people, but when she does, she is very affectionate. Nala is however very full on and boisterous. We are helping provide her with alternative behaviour so she learns jumping up is not how to greet people. Nala has had no experience of children and she is still gaining confidence. This big girl is very strong and can be prone to frustration easily. By giving her outlets such as toys and interactive games, this will help keep her calm. Nala She travels well in the car in a large crate in the boot. Once she has become familiar with a new environment she will settle. Nala has lived with 5 small breed dogs who we are told she was good with. She is however reactive on lead and has shown some aggression to certain new dogs at the centre. Nala will snap if she is uncomfortable so needs a gentle patient approach until she knows you. We are told Nala is an escape artist in the home. She will try and push past you to get out of the door so she needs help learning basic manners.
Nala was handed in for rehoming as her owner was not well enough to provide her with the ongoing exercise she requires.
Nala is in need of an adult only home. We do not know how she will be with cats. We are looking for an owner who is committed to her socialising and has lots of energy and time for exercise and training. She needs a patient owner who will continue her training using positive reinforcement and understands she needs reassurance and guidance.
