Ben is a clever boy who likes things a certain way. He did not have the best of starts when he was a young boy and had several homes before he was 1! It took Ben some time to trust people, but his previous owners have put a lot of work into him and we have noticed a huge improvement in his behaviour. Ben is generally friendly with most dogs who he meets but he will bark at them and sounds quite aggressive. We feel this is from frustration and he will need more training/management for this. He is very keen to learn new things and needs positive training and distractions to avoid confrontational situation. We had a training day with some of our dogs and Ben did very well. Ben hasn't lived with cats or children.
Ben was adopted from the centre about a year ago, he originally came to us due to his guarding behaviour and lack of socialisation - his latest owners have done a lot of work with him but unfortunately they have found some of his behaviour not manageable for their situation and have handed Ben back into the centre to find him his perfect match.
Ben needs a home with an experienced owner who can continue his management program. He needs a home without children. Ben seems to like other dogs but due to his guarding instinct if he was to live with another dog, they would need to have their own space during feeding times etc. Ben is a lovely boy who has a lot to give, he still just needs some extra guidance and understanding.
